Welcome from the Dean
Amy Gratch Hoyle, Ph.D.
Professor, Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Education
Welcome to Neumann University’s School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Education. Faculty in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Education are accessible and approachable, ensuring students experience a uniquely personalized education while at Neumann. We live the Catholic Franciscan tradition through our teaching and through our relationships with students and their families. Our work with students in and beyond the classroom reflects our commitment to the Neumann University values, known campus wide as RISES: respect, reverence, integrity, service, excellence, and stewardship.
In the School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Education, faculty believe that education is a vehicle through which learners can become who they were created to be, and that education is essential to individual happiness and to a democratic community. We believe in education that shows us the creative power of hope and teaches us the peace that comes from justice. Through such education, students become engaged citizens, actively participating in society as we work together for social justice.
If you are looking for an undergraduate program, I hope that you consider joining Neumann University to study one of our excellent programs in social work, education, criminal justice, political science, or English. If you are looking for a graduate program, the School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Education houses fabulous programs at the master’s level including forensic psychology, clinical mental health counseling, education, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at the doctoral level. You will find more information about each of the programs at the School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Education program pages.
Please contact the Office of Admissions to receive additional information and to arrange a campus visit.
I look forward to answering any questions you have and to welcoming you into Neumann University’s School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Education.
