Christian Peacemaker Teams

Christian Peacemaker Teams offers an organized, nonviolent alternative to war and other forms of inter-group conflict. The website explains the work of the teams in various places, including the United States, Canada, Colombia, Iraq, Hebron, and the United Kingdom. The site also includes materials on efforts to oppose violent toys. Sponsors of the program include the Church of the Brethren, Quakers, and Mennonite Churches. The Fellowship of Reconciliation is an interfaith organization committed to active nonviolence as a transforming way of life and as a means of radical change. FOR seeks to replace violence, war, racism, and economic injustice with nonviolence, peace, and justice. The site provides articles, links to online magazines and other organizations working for peace. There is also an online store with many peace products.

The Institute for Peace and Justice

The Institute for Peace and Justice is an independent, interfaith, not-for-profit organization that creates resources, provides learning experiences, and advocates publicly for alternatives to violence and injustice at the individual, family, community, institutional and global levels. In 1981 the Institute created the "Parenting for Peace and Justice Network." In 1996 this collaboration resulted in the creation of the "Families Against Violence Advocacy Network" and its Pledge of Nonviolence for families, schools, faith communities, workplaces and prisons. In 2004 the Institute added a "Teens Acting for Peace Program", a Preschool Peace Program, and a Violent Offenders Program.

Established in 1968 by Coretta Scott King, this is the official living memorial dedicated to the advancement of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., leader of America's greatest nonviolent movement for justice and peace. The Center utilizes diverse communications media, including books, audio and video cassettes, film, television, CDs and web pages, to educate people about Dr. King's life, work and his philosophy and methods of nonviolent conflict-reconciliation and social change. The site includes a basic orientation to Dr. King's philosophy of non-violence and provides links to helpful resources.

The Peace and Justice Studies Association

Formed in 2001 as a result of the merger of the Consortium on Peace Research, Education and Development and the Peace Studies Association, the association is dedicated to bringing together academics, K-12 educators, and grassroots activists to explore alternatives to violence and share visions and strategies for social justice and social change. PJSA also serves as a professional association for scholars in the field of peace and conflict resolution studies. The online newsletter,The Peace Chronicle, published three times a year includes information on peace research, peace studies, peace education, and book and film reviews.
