Timely Warnings

When the Department of Campus Safety becomes aware of criminal incidents that, in the judgment of the University’s senior leadership, constitute an ongoing threat to the campus community, the Department of Campus Safety issues a Crime Alert to notify the community. These Crime Alerts are disseminated via the Department of Campus Safety. Depending on the particular circumstances, a timely warning will be issued without delay by the Department of Campus Safety and the information may be disseminated by using one or a combination of the following: e-mail distribution, Neumann University website, campus publications and postings and/or activation of the externally hosted emergency notification Campus alert system to advise the community of the situation. Neumann University withholds as confidential the names of victims.

To the Neumann Community,

In the wake of the recent incident that occurred at the community college in Oregon, the FBI and the ATF have received intelligence information that was gathered from social media sites that allude to threats to college and universities. Since the incident in Oregon, other (copycat) postings warn of similar incidents. One referred to a college/university near the Philadelphia area for October 5th. The FBI/ATF at this time have no specific threat to any specific college/university in the Philadelphia area.

Campus Safety will be increasing patrols on campus. Campus Safety has also contacted the Aston Police Department and are working with them to enhance police patrols on and near the campus.

Please be aware of your surroundings and immediately report any suspicious person or activity by calling Campus Safety at 610-558-5555 or 911.

Thank you,
The Department of Campus Safety
