Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences

Summary of This Program

Bachelor’s of Science in Health Sciences

Become an expert in human health — and transform that expertise into an exciting career — with a health sciences degree from Neumann University.

Whether you’re interested in a healthcare career, a career in sports medicine or even a career as a health educator, this degree can help you reach your goals.

You can tailor your education by choosing from six tracks: Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Occupational Therapy, Pre-Athletic Training, Strength and Conditioning, Exercise Physiology and Health Education.

The degree’s pre-professional tracks help you prepare for graduate programs in those areas, while the other three can prepare you for both graduate school and the workforce. We’ve seen high rates of acceptance into graduate schools among our health sciences majors, as well as an excellent pass rate on professional certification exams.

Our high success rates are thanks to a robust curriculum that includes opportunities to put your knowledge into practice in state-of-the-art labs. In particular, our new Health Sciences Center boasts five labs you can use for hands-on learning.

You’ll get even more hands-on learning by completing an internship or observation course before graduating. Other interactive learning experiences include study abroad trips during spring break and trips to Florida to discover unique healthcare settings such as Disney World and NASA.

What are the certification exams?

While not every health sciences field requires a certification, we thoroughly prepare students for the ones that do. These include strength and conditioning, exercise physiology, and health education.

In addition, some health sciences jobs require certifications at the end of a graduate program. You’ll work with advisors to make sure you’re on track to be accepted into graduate programs and, ultimately, pass those exams.
