Clinical Experiences
Our clinical opportunities are a strength to our program due to our location in the greater Philadelphia region. In addition to the coursework, athletic training students will also be required to complete four different clinical rotations. Students have a vast and diversified opportunity to complete their clinical hours at private and public high schools, Division I, II, and III universities and colleges, professional sports, military, and clinic location. Throughout these experiences, students will have the opportunity for practical application and mastery of skills that are not only required for the profession but also meet CAATE 2020 standards. During the first year and second year in the athletic training program, students will be required to complete a minimum of 200 hours and 300 hours each semester, respectively. While in the second year, students will participate in at least one “immersive” clinical experience (included in the overall 300 hour minimum). The immersive clinical experience is a four-week, full-time, practice-intensive period to allow students to fully engage in all aspects of profession. Students will be under the direct supervision of a preceptor while participating in all clinical experiences.
