in
Teacher Education
The Graduate Programs in Teacher Education
~
Graduate Programs in Pastoral Care
and Counseling
~ The Undergraduate Program in Theology
Please take some time to check out the programs and services offered
through
our Division and of specific interest to you. Perhaps you are interested in beginning
college and pursuing a degreein early elementary education (grades PK-4), special education (grades PK-8), or secondary education (grades 7-12).
Take
a look at the points of difference that distinguish the Neumann University undergraduate program teacher
education
programs.
Are you an experienced educational professional looking for the opportunity
to work on challenges that are relevant to your own professional interests?
The Doctor
of Education in Educational Leadership program prepares students
to demonstrate the leadership to implement school-based action plans,
assess the needs and accomplishments of students and faculty, and participate
in curriculum development and evaluation.
Are you interested in a graduate degree in education perhaps to enhance
your effectiveness as a classroom teacher? Are you considered the field
of education as a career change? Our Master
of Science in Education Degree Program with options for certification in several areas may be just the program
for you. See what Neumann has to offer.
The Ph.D. in Pastoral Counseling is an advanced studies degree integrating spiritual perspectives with the practice of clinical counseling and psychotherapy. It is designed to prepare students to work as counselor educators, supervisors, consultants, mental health advocates, researchers and advanced practitioners in academic and clinical settings.
Two other unique opportunities are available to you through our Pastoral
Care and Counseling Graduate Program. The core of this program
is the integration of spirituality and psychology preparing graduates
to offer dynamic, holistic forms of healing and guidance. In Pastoral
Counseling students are prepared to be licensed clinicians in
mental health counseling with a solid blend of the theological and spiritual
dimensions. Our Spiritual
Direction certificate prepares students, lay or ordained, for the ministry
of spiritual direction, assisting people in their faith journey.
The Neumann University Vision Statement reminds us that "our outreach
embraces ideals and actions which enhance individuals personally and which
have a structural impact on the community, the Church and the global environment."
Our Division helps bring alive this vision through our Child
Development Center and our Programs for Early Childhood Practitioners.
Neumann is a University that is both Catholic and Franciscan.
Our University's Mission Statement tells us, "Knowledge, while valuable
in itself, is to be used in the service of others." As you can see,
the programs and services of the Division of Education and Human Services
meet this call to service and do so in the way St. Francis and St. Clare
challenged us to serve - "joyfully, cheerfully, and consistently
gracious in the Lord." If I can ever be of service or assist you
with questions about any of the program and services that are part of
the Division of Education and Human Services please call upon me.
Sincerely yours,

Dr. Joseph E. Gillespie
Dean of Division of Education and Human Services
