Jeremiah 23: 5-8
Psalm 72: 1-2, 12-13, 18-19
Matthew 1: 18-25
“Justice shall flourish in his time and fullness of peace forever.”
I sit here under a beautiful weeping willow as I watch the colorful fall trees blow in the soft wind. A small voice echoes in my head, “Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace forever.” As I read this scripture over and over again, the same phrase is highlighted in my mind. “Justice,” a small word holding much power in one person’s life, as a dear family member fights for Justice in the cold world of accusations. “…Fullness of peace forever.” My anxiety has been heightened in fear of finding Justice and Peace in a very difficult situation.
As I sit here today and read the scripture, I am reminded of the presence of God and the guidance He offers. Another phrase stands out amongst the others: “God is with us.” My loved one will begin to feel the fullness of peace as he finds the guidance of God and works through his inner struggle. It is clear to me now that the situation that has arisen in our lives is beyond my control and left in the hands of the Lord. This phrase, “God is with us” warms my heart and brings calmness to my worry filled mind. By the grace of God, I am reminded that the Lord is always with me and with His glory here on earth. Justice and Peace shall always be found.
The scripture speaks directly to the inner struggle I have been having within myself and throughout a troubling situation. I have struggled for months on this issue and finally after reading the scripture and hearing the word of the Lord, it is clear to me; God will guide my loved one to the Peace and Justice he deserves. These readings have made a huge difference in the perspective I have taken on such a personal issue. I am now aware the best action I can take on behalf of another, is simply to pray. The Lord is with me, The Lord is with him, the Lord is with us. With the Lord, my heart is at ease.
