For junior Lewis Johnson, coming to Neumann was a family affair. “My cousin went to Neumann and loved it. I visited her the summer before her senior year, and I love it too,” he said. The arts production and performance major fell in love with performing as a student at Cardinal O’Hara High School and knew that field was what he wanted to pursue in college.
An active student on campus, Lewis is a member of COR team and the NU Players, a leader of the Assisi House, a wellness educator, and a member of the leadership institute and the Ally Program. Ally helps GLBTQ students break the mold and brings them together to share experiences.
Lewis also volunteers in Camden, New Jersey, with the COR team. “It feels really good to bring a city back to where it used to be,” he said. The group worked on installing a stained glass mural, spent a week there during their spring break last year, and continues to volunteer throughout the year.
