St. Mary’s University College in Twickenham, England, and Neumann University have something in common – a student named Michelle Hagen. The communications major decided to spend part of her junior year studying abroad and choose Neumann.
“This was a big jump for me, and I love it here. The most I’d had been away from home before coming to Neumann was for one week. It’s a once in a lifetime experience,” she said.
While at St. Mary’s, Michelle met a Neumann student who was studying abroad there, Michelle Ferguson. The American introduced Michelle to Neumann. Now the two are roommates at the Aston campus and do a show on Neumann Radio called “The United Nations.
”In addition to the radio show, Michelle is also a member of Neumann’s chorus. She has taken several student sponsored trips including one to New York City.
“I do want to go back home but I really do enjoy it here. I’d stay longer if I could. Everyone is really friendly and approachable. It has been a great experience, and I’d definitely do it again given the chance,” she said.
