Nicole Rosati ('15)

Nicole has been a political science junkie since she was a sophomore at Neumann Goretti High School. She was a committed political science major by the time she arrived at Neumann.

Nicole Rosati ('15)

As a junior, fascinated by the dynamics of city government, Nicole found an internship with Greenlee Partners, a Philadelphia lobbying firm—and made it her own. She attended City Council sessions, met clients, learned about their interests in proposed legislation, and created a summary of all legislation enacted in City Council from 2012 through 2014. No surprise that Greenlee Partners invited Nicole to continue her internship, where she kept working toward her goal: a job where she can have an impact on politics and government.

Jillian DeFina ('15)

Jillian majored in psychology at Neumann. She was a campus leader in student spiritual activities, found time to play field hockey for the Neumann Knights—and was named to the CSAC All-Conference team her senior year.

Upon graduation, Jillian skipped the fast-track career and salary. Instead, she joined the Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) for a year and was assigned to the St.Francis of Assisi soup kitchen in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She’ll recruit and supervise volunteers, stock the pantry, update the kitchen’s facebook page, and serve as banana runner. Evidently, the kitchen uses quite a few bananas.

She’ll live in JVC housing, but her stipend will be just $100 per month. She’s actually looking forward to a year of poverty. “This is something I really have to commit my whole self to,” she says—much like her goal of being a campus minister.

Kathleen Poliski ('13)

Kathleen, a Communications and Media Arts major, had developed some serious chops. About $10,000.00 worth to be exact.

She used her chops to script, shoot, and edit a 90-second video focused on the need for health care coverage in case of a spontaneous zombie attack.

Yes, zombies. Why? Because the Independence Blue Cross (IBX) 90-Second Video Contest was designed to raise awareness among millennials about the need for health insurance. And millennials pay attention to zombies. Poliski won the Grand Prize and received $10,000 from IBX. Watch the video at

Dr. Till’s Strategic Management class: Top 1% in Business!

Four teams of Neumann business students cracked the top 100 in an international Business Strategy Game that involved over 9,400 teams from more than 400 colleges.

Dr. Till’s Strategic Management class: Top 1% in Business!

The performance of Neumann’s teams, based on Return on Equity of fictitious footwear companies that they operated, placed them in the top one percent of all teams that entered the competition.

The game casts students in the role of company managers, who are responsible for decisions regarding production operations, shipping and inventory management, corporate social responsibility, pricing and marketing, financing, worker compensation, and other aspect of business management. Teams from Canada, Europe, Mexico and the United States competed.

Fifteen students from Dr. Robert Till’s Strategic Management class managed the four top-100 teams, which achieved Return on Equity results that ranged from 41.5% to 48.3%. Dr. Till brings more than 20 years of Wall Street experience to the classroom.

Neumann Knights

The Neumann Knights are the 2015 undisputed kings of collegiate roller hockey.

Neumann Knights

Our Knights defeated archrival Lindenwood University, 4-3, to capture the 2015 Division I crown. After splitting a pair of games with the Lions during the year (Neumann's only loss in a dominant 34-1 season), the Knights never trailed in the championship match.

The National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association invited 24 teams to participate in the tournament. In early matches, played for seeding, the Knights beat the University of Colorado, 5-0; UNLV, 3-2; and Cal Poly, 9-0. In the single-elimination tourney, Neumann drubbed Rowan University, 11-1, and the University of Missouri at St. Louis, 10-1, to reach the Final Four. Another victory over Cal Poly in the semi-finals set up the rematch with Lindenwood.

In their four tournament games, the Knights outscored their opponents 32-6. Neumann won Division II titles in 2006 and 2008 before moving up to Division I.

Jamie Sabetta ('11)

Jamie received the Cooper University Hospital Women’s Board Nurse of the Year Award just four years after she graduated.

She was nominated by her colleagues and selected for her outstanding contributions to excellence in patient care.

She credits her time at Neumann for giving her the tools to succeed. “Neumann holds students to high standards and prepares you for the daily challenges you face as a nurse. We worked hard not only in the classroom but also in the clinicals. And it’s like a family. Everyone knows everyone, and I loved that feeling. The professors not only knew your name but truly cared about how you were doing.”

Neumann offers majors that incite curiosity, inspire exploration, and build career pathways.
