The Certificate of Advanced Studies in Spiritual Direction Supervision
(C.A.S.) is designed for experienced spiritual directors who seek
professional development or enrichment in the area of supervision.
In consultation with the Program Coordinator, the C.A.S. student designs
an individualized learning contract which includes the following requirements:
The student who successfully completes these 15 credits in fulfillment of
the individualized learning contract will be awarded the Certificate of
Advanced Studies in Spiritual Direction Supervision.

Outcomes
At the completion of the C.A.S. program in Spiritual Direction Supervision,
the student will be able to:
Demonstrate a deeper understanding of the relationship between spirituality
and psychology, in both theory and practice.
Demonstrate knowledge of the spectrum of great teachers in the history
of Christian spirituality.
Understand the difference between supervision and consultation in
spiritual direction.
Understand the various paths for further professional development
in the spiritual direction field and have sufficient information and
experience to pursue them, if so desired.
Demonstrate knowledge of the history of spiritual direction in a variety of religious traditions.
