With the summer theater camps in full swing, Center Stage Productions (CSP) prepares for the final performance for its Showcase Workshop. After a successful run last year with Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr., CSP moves ahead this year with Fame Jr. in the Fred P. Meagher Theatre from Thursday, July 18, to Saturday, July 20.
It is the final years of New York’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts on 46th Street as students commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work. Set during 1980-1984, Fame Jr. displays candor, humor and insight as the show explores the issues that confront young performers today. Complete with a high-energy, contemporary score, Fame Jr. intends to delight all ages.
Performances run July 18-20 at 11 a.m. with an evening performance on Thursday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $7. The group rate for 15 or more is $5 each. For more information, call 610-558-5626.
