Sweeney Todd Auditions

Center Stage Productions will hold auditions for the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, Sweeney Todd, on Tuesday, May 21, and Wednesday, May 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Fred P. Meagher Theatre in the campus Life Center.

Set in 19th century England, the musical tells the story of Benjamin Barker, aka Sweeney Todd, who returns to London after 15 years' exile on trumped-up charges. When he finds out that his wife poisoned herself after being raped by the judge who exiled him, he vows revenge on the judge and, later, the whole world. He teams up with a pie maker, Mrs. Lovett, and opens a barbershop in which he slits the throats of customers and has them baked into pies.

Director Brian Kavanagh is looking to fill seven 7 male solo part, six 6 female solo parts and a full ensemble chorus. For required audition pieces, please contact the director at KAVANAGB@neumann.edu. Callbacks will be on Thursday, May 23
at 6 p.m.
