Celebrate the “Meaning of the Season” at Neumann University with the annual Greccio Live Nativity Celebration on Sunday, December 2, at 6:15 p.m.

The birth of Jesus in a Bethlehem stable so touched the life of St. Francis of Assisi 800 years ago that he gathered the townsfolk of Greccio to reenact the central mystery of the Catholic faith. This reenactment was the beginning of the Christmas manger. Neumann University holds its annual Live Nativity to honor this tradition as families throughout the region prepare for the feast of Christmas.

The evening begins with a liturgy at 5 p.m. in Our Lady of Angels Chapel.  Children can pet Nativity animals at 5:45 p.m. and after the celebration. The Greccio Live Nativity Celebration begins at 6:15 p.m.  Enjoy Christmas music, refreshments and meet Santa after the Live Nativity.

The performance will be in front of the Bachmann Building on campus. The event is free to all.  Please contact Melissa Hickey at 610-558-5525 or at for more information.

Following the Live Nativity, the Christina Brame Gospel Choir presents The Greatest Gift: A Greccio Celebration. It will be an evening of worship and praise on Sunday, December 2, at 7:30 p.m.

The evening will feature performances by The Christina Brame Gospel Choir, the Neumann University Praise Dancers and Neumann University faculty members Shawn McDonald, Catherine Sullivan, Melissa Hickey and Mac Given. All proceeds from the concert go to benefit Anna’s Place in Chester, PA.
