Neumann Ed.D. Grad Appointed Supervisor of
Special Ed. at the Ridley School District

Neumann University Ed.D. grad Gina Ciallella was recently appointed supervisor of special education at the Ridley School District. In her new position, Ciallella’s responsibilities include overseeing secondary special education, psychological services, compliance monitoring, budgeting, supervision of staff, and a continuum of services.

“I am excited to be back at Ridley. It’s my alma mater. I feel like I can give back to the community, and I am committed to the district’s vision, mission, and goals,” Ciallella said.

Ciallella knew she wanted to complete her Ed.D. and decided Neumann was the best fit for her. “Completing my Ed.D. has been a personal goal of mine since undergrad. I admired many of my college professors and knew I would only be better at my job if I continued my studies,” said Ciallella.

“Neumann’s program provided me with a small program that met my needs. It offered me the opportunity to earn a superintendent’s letter and my doctorate over a period of time. The core doctoral staff was so supportive and helped me meet my goals with the opportunity to do all the things I wanted at the same time,” she said.

Ciallella also spoke highly of the support she received while completing her doctorate. “While I was at Neumann I went through a pretty tough time in my life and I had some unforeseen personal challenges. Fr. Lowe and Dr. Conn were so supportive and I was able to complete the program and defend my dissertation,” she said.

“I truly believe if someone is considering this program, but feels like they have a lot going on in their life, they are tied down with their job, and they don’t think they could get through a program like this, then this is the program for them. They will be supported 100 percent,” Ciallella said.
