Neumann University will host singer Matt Nathanson as part of the Homecoming 2010 festivities on campus on Friday, October 15, at 8:30 p.m. in the Mirenda Center for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development.
Nathanson is a folk-rock musician who sings and plays acoustic and electric guitar. His work includes the platinum selling song Come on Get Higher. His most recent release, Some Mad Hope, was recorded over the past two and half years and displays his newfound songwriting confidence.
After relocating from Boston to San Francisco in the early 90s, Nathanson came to prominence on the coffeehouse scene. He lived his life as the very model of the modern independent artist, journeying from town to town, logging literally hundreds of thousands of miles, and captivating audiences with his confessional songs and spontaneous uncensored stage banter.
Prior to Nathanson’s performance, there will be fireworks at 7:45 p.m. on the Athletic Fields. Homecoming events on Saturday, October 16, include the PGH Lecture on nursing and healthcare reform at 9:45 a.m. and the St. John Neumann Circle dedication ceremony.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. The concert is free for Neumann students with ID. Click HERE to purchase tickets. For more information, contact the Student Activities Office at 610-558-5539.
