Dr. Len DiPaul
Dr. Len DiPaul, executive director of the Department of Pastoral and Theological Studies at Neumann, recently received the National Youth Ministry Award for 2010 from the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM). DiPaul traveled to New Orleans this month to accept the award.
The award is presented to a person who has made a significant contribution in youth ministry on a national level impacting the field of youth ministry and/or the NFCYM; a person who has influenced the national Catholic Church on behalf of the young Church; and/or those who serve in youth ministry.
DiPaul was nominated by four of his peers from Cleveland, Ohio, to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He got to know youth ministry leaders from across the country while serving six years as a regional representative on the NFCYM board. “To be acknowledged by men and women I admire, who have done so much for the church is very humbling,” DiPaul said.
“Leonard DiPaul epitomizes the best of what ministry in the Catholic Church is about. He has integrated our Catholic beliefs and values into a worldview that sees all people as brothers and sisters in Christ,” writes Dr. Greg Dobie Moser, executive director of youth and young adult ministry, in his nomination letter.
“I have been lucky to be involved with the NFCYM. The experience here at Neumann is similar in that it is mission driven and faith-based and allows us as a community to grow spiritually. It is consistent with what I have experienced with the NFCYM,” said DiPaul.
