The Neumann University Players will present “Six Characters in Search of an Author” Thursday, November 12, through Sunday, November 15 at the Fred P. Meagher Theatre in the Thomas A. Bruder, Jr. Life Center.
As a director and actors are about to begin rehearsals for a play, they are interrupted by a sudden arrival of a group of characters who have been abandoned by their author before their story has been completed. The characters can be fully alive only if they inhabit a finished work of art, and so they enlist the acting company to create a play that brings them to life on stage. The script has been given a 21st Century makeover with an adaptation by Louis Lippa, resident playwright for People’s Light and Theatre.
Performances begin Thursday, November 12, through Saturday, November 14, at 8 p.m. with the box office opening at 7 p.m. There will be a matinee showing on Sunday, November 15, at 2 p.m. with the box office opening at 1 p.m.
General admission is $10 and $5 for students, Neumann faculty and staff, and per person in a group rate (15 or more for the same performance). For reservations and information, contact the University Players Box Office at 610-361-5455.
