Neumann University junior Megan Ingenbrandt received the best on-air personality award for her show, “Socially Awkward” at the Philadelphia Achievement In Radio (AIR) Awards on November 5. “Socially Awkward” airs on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and plays mostly rock music with random fun facts.
Ingenbrandt has been with the radio station for three years and beat out students from Kutztown, Cabrini, and Rowan for the award. The AIR awards, now in its 16th year, is an annual March of Dimes fund-raising event honoring and celebrating Philadelphia area achievement in radio, an event by broadcasters for broadcasters to raise money for the Pennsylvania Chapter of the March of Dimes. This includes all current FM and AM stations in the Philadelphia Market and contestants were judged by a panel of radio members outside of the Philadelphia market. Categories include best on-air personality, best public achievement, best charity event, as well as leadership, milestone, and lifetime achievement awards.
Neumann Radio is an educational web casting station that operates 24 hours per day. The station’s programming primarily serves the university community, but is reaching out to get involvement from the local community. For more information, visit Neumann Radio HERE or email radio@neumann.edu
