Jay Devine, a founding partner of Devine + Powers Communications Group, was re-elected chair of the Neumann University Board of Trustees in December. He will lead the 27-member group through 2011.
“I have been privileged to participate in the tremendous growth of Neumann University and to help foster its mission of Catholic education in the Franciscan tradition,” said Mr. Devine. “With its new university status and Mirenda Center for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development, Neumann’s greatest years are ahead.”
Devine joined the Board in July 1998 and was first elected chair in July 2002. He has served as chair since that time.

Until co-founding Devine & Powers in 2003, he was the general manager of Tierney Public Relations, Philadelphia’s largest public relations agency. Devine was one of Tierney’s founding members in 1989 and directed the agency’s corporate, financial, technology and healthcare account group.
From 1990-1995, he served as spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and continues to advise them today. Prior to joining Tierney, Devine worked for Golin/Harris and for Porter Novelli in Washington, D.C.
He is a graduate of Georgetown University and a resident of Strafford, Pennsylvania.
