Continuing Professional Education Classes Available in October

 

The following Continuing Professional Education and Continuing Legal Education classes for accountants and attorneys will be available this October.

 

Executive Compensations-Selected Topics will be held Thursday, October 1. This course will cover selected executive compensation topics such as stock-based compensation (stock options, restricted stock, etc.) and the related IRC Section 83(b) election. This course offers 2.5 substantive hours and 1 hour ethics CLE and 4 hours A&A CPE.

 

Counseling Clients on Foreclosures will be held on Wednesday, October 7. This course will give the auditor or lawyer guidelines to set to review documents and procedures for foreclosures or tax sales. Students will learn what to look for pre-sale, how to manage post-sale, and how to prolong sale. This course offers 2.5 substantive hours and 1 hour ethics CLE and 4 hours A&A CPE.

 

IRS Update will be held on Friday, October 9. Topics covered will include tax law changes, cancellation of debt income issues, and international issues for U.S. citizens and resident aliens. This course offers 3.5 substantive hours CLE and 4 hours tax CPE.

 

Movies, Popcorn, and the Law will be held Friday, October 16. This course will focus on the films dealing with legal issues, trials, and outstanding scenes. The seminar will include discussions of films and breaking news regarding legal matters. This course will offer 2.5 hours substantive hours and 1 hour ethics CLE and 4 hours other CPE.

 

Conquering the Top 10 Objectives of Variable Annuities will be held on Tuesday, October 20. The purpose of this course is to develop a better understanding of tax deferred annuities and how to better understand where an annuity may fit into a client’s overall financial portfolio. This course offers 3.5 substantive hours CLE and 4 hours other CPE.

 

Take your Quickbooks to the Next Level! (OB Pro Intermediate) will be held on Saturday, October 24. Participants will get to the next level by covering back reconciliations, credit card transactions, entering and paying bills, and valuable reporting. This course offers 3.5 substantive hours CLE and 4 credits A&A CPE.

 

Inside the Law of Grey’s Anatomy will be held Wednesday, October 28. This course is designed for lawyers whose practices involve medical issues including cases such as medical malpractice, automobile negligence, slip and fall, workmen’s compensation, disability matters and product liability. This course offers 3.5 substantive hours CLE and 4 hours other CPE.
