Jonathan Peri, Esq. has served full time with Neumann University since 2006. In his capacity as Vice President and General Counsel, Peri oversees a wide range of legal, administrative, and strategic matters for the University. Peri also directs the university’s Center for Leadership, a forum where high profile speakers present to and prepare community members in leadership competencies and methods for positive, values-driven decision-making.

Before the recent change in Pennsylvania law to simplify the process, Peri coordinated the University’s successful application to the Pennsylvania Department of Education, elevating the institution’s status from College to University. The application required in-depth research and extensive writing. Peri also initiated the institution’s enterprise risk management processes, and he has helped the university to form and maintain numerous valuable government, nonprofit, private-sector and individual relationships.
In June 2014, Peri was appointed to the Pennsylvania State Charter School Appeal Board by Governor Tom Corbett. This was Peri's third state-level appointment in education. In every appointment Peri had the full bi-partisan unanimous confirmation of the Pennsylvania Senate, and the appointments themselves have come from both political parties. He has maintained this level of support through good character and his unifying perspective that stakeholders need to operate collaboratively if positive outcomes are truly desired.
In October 2010, Peri was appointed to the Pennsylvania State Board of Education by Governor Edward G. Rendell upon the recommendation of Senate Majority Leader Dominic F. Pileggi and Senator Edwin B. Erickson. Peri is serving a six year term on the Board and its Council of Higher Education. In May 2011, Peri was further advanced on that board to serve as Chairman of its School and University Safety Committee.
In March of 2009 Peri was appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Pennsylvania Senate, Joe Scarnati, to the Tuition Account Program Advisory Board which advises regarding $3.1 Billion worth of investments* in Pennsylvania’s 529 College Savings Program, which includes the Guaranteed Savings Plan and the Investment Plan. In March of 2013 Peri was appointed by Senator Scarnati to a second four year term.

Peri is faculty ranked as an Assistant Professor. Prior to his full time appointment at Neumann, Peri was an Adjunct Professor with Neumann and he has served, and continues to serve, as an adjunct faculty member at other institutions of higher education. As an attorney, Peri has the esteemed Martindale Hubble “AV” rating, a rating that his peers hold him in the highest regard in various competency aspects of the legal industry; in this rating system he holds a ranking of 5.0 out of 5.0. Peri held several positions with the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office in Media, Pennsylvania, including the position of Special Prosecutor in the Special Prosecutions Unit where he conducted confidential grand jury proceedings. He was also a spokesperson for that office. Peri has held Associate positions at the large firm of Saul Ewing LLP in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and in small and midsized law firms in Long Island and Manhattan.
Peri earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Villanova University and his Juris Doctorate from Widener University at its Wilmington, Delaware campus. He has also received a management and leadership in education certificate from Harvard University, has attended the leadership Institute for Administrators in Catholic Higher Education at Boston College, and has attended the Association of Catholic Colleges & University’s Aspiring Presidents Program. Currently, Peri has completed curriculum, passed comprehensive examinations, and is working through the dissertation phase in Eastern University’s Ph.D. program in Organizational Leadership where he has selected the Education Concentration.
Peri has received numerous accolades and holds leadership roles on several non-profit boards. Peri has received the “Person of the Year Award” at Philadelphia’s Top of the Tower, accepting this honor from the Upper Darby Community Outreach Corporation, which lauded Peri’s work in leadership in the community. He currently serves as the President of the Delaware County Bar Association and previously held the Chairmanships of its Corporate Counsel, Judicial Selection/Retention, and Labor and Employment Committees. He also serves on the Chadwick Foundation committee. He is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Walden School, a private Montessori grammar school and is Chairman of its Strategic Planning Committee; is Chairman of the Widener University School of Law Delaware County Chapter of the Alumni Board of Directors; Board Secretary of Drexel Neumann Academy, a private Catholic grammar school; Finance Committee member of the Chester Higher Education Council, a diverse multi-university collaborative that assists high school students with college access; Member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys “NACUANOTES” Editorial Board; Served for two years on the Middle States Commission on Higher Education Substantive Change Committee; and is Past Board President of the Upper Darby Community Outreach Corporation. Additionally, in August of 2009 Peri was named a Top Lawyer in Main Line Today Magazine. In December 2008, Peri was selected for inclusion in the magazine Pennsylvania Super Lawyers® – Rising Stars Edition. Peri has published several articles, and has given numerous lectures on legal issues in primary/secondary and higher education. Peri has also been a guest on the Rick Grimaldi show - WPHT 1210, CBS Philadelphia for a half-hour segment on intersection of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Title IX, the Cleary Act, and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Peri is currently a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys; Delaware County Bar Association; Pennsylvania Bar Association; American Bar Association; and Association of Corporate Counsel. He is also a Pennsylvania licensed Associate Real Estate Broker and Pennsylvania Notary, and member of the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, and Pennsylvania Association of Notaries. Peri is admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, the courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Federal Eastern District of Pennsylvania, New York and the District of Columbia.

Ms. Salladino joined the General Counsel's Office in February, 2008, from Widener University where she was the Administrative Assistant to the CIO of the Information Technology Services Department for five years. She earned her bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, as well as paralegal certifications in Litigation, Corporate Law and Criminal Law from Widener University. Ms. Salladino is currently a member of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations, National Association of Legal Assistants, and the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals.
